The short version

A practical planning note for Hashem: confirm the menu, agree on portions, and leave the next stop until after the meal.

Why put Hashem on your map?

Royal Jordanian introduces Hashem as a falafel restaurant in downtown Amman. Use that identity as a starting point, then ask whether this is the kind of meal you want today. Recognising a famous name and choosing the right stop for your own group are different decisions.

If the meal is the main purpose, save the arrival point and your onward direction before setting out. Nearby activities can remain optional until you have eaten. Leaving space around lunch makes it easier to follow your companions’ pace rather than a tightly packed itinerary.

Settle the practical details first

On arrival, ask where to sit and how to order. Look at the current menu rather than assuming the arrangement at another table will be right for you. Explain how many people are eating and whether you want a light stop or a substantial meal.

For a smaller appetite, begin with a focused order and reassess before adding anything. For a full meal, ask what quantity would suit your group. This is more useful than ordering a little of everything without knowing the serving sizes.

Agree on how your table will eat

Decide whether you want to share or order separately. Check which accompaniments are included and what an additional order means. These are questions to ask, rather than a claim that any particular set meal or extra is available.

DecisionWhat to clarify
SharingWhether your chosen dishes can be shared
QuantityYour group size and how much you want to eat
TotalThe complete price after choosing additions

Keep three Arabic questions handy

You do not need a memorised conversation to begin. Save a short question in large text and show it when helpful. If you cannot follow the answer, point to the menu or ask for the number to be written down before confirming.

  • أين نجلس؟ — Where shall we sit?
  • ماذا تقترح لشخصين؟ — What would you suggest for two people?
  • كم الحساب؟ — How much is the bill?

Keep a useful record afterwards

Note what you actually ordered, how many people ate, and whether you would change the quantity next time. Those details can make a better personal reference than a score with no explanation. Keep the record specific to the meal and conditions you experienced.

This preparation guide uses Royal Jordanian’s introduction for the restaurant’s identity. It does not include a first-hand judgment of taste or service. Check the current menu, operations, and payment arrangements before visiting or when you arrive.
